One hospitalized in local Arvada fire

Arvada, Colo —  One injured in a local Arvada house fire. The fire occurred at 60th and Nelson. Neither Arvada Police Department or Arvada Fire Department have confirmed what caused the fire. Arvada Fire did put a fire advisory out the weekend of the fire. The cause of most house fires in the USA are caused by cooking. The second leader in house fires is heating, third is electrical. According to the Zebra “In a five-year period, house fires caused 2,620 deaths and $6.9 billion in property damage”

Resident Austin Wilcox and Arvada West High School student said, “I was taking a nap and then somebody woke me up and said there’s a fire outside.”

The person taken to the hospital has not yet been identified but as Austin Wilcox also said, “I didn’t know the people, but I did know that there was a family that lived there.” 

Arvada Fire tweeted in their latest post that, “The fire has been placed under control. This incident occurred at a single-story residence. One occupant has been transported to a local hospital. Crews remain on scene for overhaul and ventilation.” There are still many updates to come.
