The Avalanche and the Sharks were tied for most of the game, until J.T. Compher took a pass from Derick Brassard, deked to his backhand and scored, putting the Avalanche ahead. With 2:28 minutes left in the game, and the Avalanche leading at 3-2, Marc-Edouard Vlasic of the Sharks scored, tying the game up 3-3.

The two teams went head to head in over-time, and 2:32 minutes in Gabriel Landeskog, team captain, scored the game- winning goal.

In a post-game interview, Landeskog says, “Our whole mentality going into tonight was just, no regrets, leave it all out there on the ice,” as he speaks about the team.

Landeskog later says, “From an individual perspective, I feel like I haven’t been a big enough threat offensively, as I would like to be,” speaking on the fact that he has only scored 3 goes in playoffs so far.

The Avalanche are scheduled to play the Sharks in game 7 on May 8, 2019 at 9:00 p.m. The game will decide which team goes to round 3 of the playoffs.
